The Asian Football Confederation announced the implementation of innovative ‘Live Match Analysis’ system for the first time, in the AFC Champions League third-round matches, after it was used in the QNB Stars League. The QSL had earned the rare distinction of being the first league in Asia, and second in the world after the Denmark league, to use ‘Live Match Analysis’.

The system was implemented at the 2019 AFC Champions League’s third-round match between Qatar’s Al Duhail and the UAE’s Al Ain, which ended in a 2-2 draw at the Al Duhail Stadium on Monday, 8th April.

The AFC gave approval for the system to be implemented in two matches. Accordingly, it was to be used during the AFC Champions League third-round game between Qatar’s Al Rayyan and the UAE’s Al Wahda at the Al Sadd Stadium on Tuesday, 9th April.
